Happy to find your blog! Good luck writing for two! :-) I have trouble keeping one blog going! LOL!I'm going to read the article from Ancestry you've posted about. I've never written anything about myself and you're right, I may have g-grandkids some day that might be interested!Love your work!Cindy (Genealogy Circle)
Thanks Cindy! I keep telling myself that the quality of my writing really won't matter much. They will love it anyway. Now I just need to take my own advice!
You have a great blog...what a gorgeous header! I am your newest follower.Anyhow, several years ago, I learned the truth about writing things down, so I have been keeping a family journal since about 2003. My real intent was to have a record of the things we so easily forget. After all, life is made up of simple, everyday moments. I mean, most of life is not lived on a vacation or doing anything grandiose, so we need to record those "simple" things so as not to forget them. Fast forward to 2011...I have gotten into genealogy, and I am wishing I had started journaling 30 years ago...and I am wishing my ancestors had journaled and tht I discovered one of their journals. I would LOVE that, so that is what keeps me faithful to continuing to journal myself...the knowledge that future generations will want to read about my "ordinary" life, just as I want to know more about my ancestors' "ordinary" lives.Sorry for the rambling comment.
Thanks Patti. I am so bad about journaling consistently. But I'm trying to do better. Its so important.
